We are excited to announce our intentions to resume in-person worship on June 7th! From the outset, the goal of the leadership team has been to honor the first rule of the church, “First, do no harm”, while glorifying God at the same time. With this as our desire, we will do our best in the following note to share with you our plans, and how you can assist your church in meeting these important
SERVICES - 9am (reserved for those in the “At Risk” population), and 11am. Services will last from 45-50 minutes.
FORMAT - Both services will be a blend of traditional and contemporary style. As there will be no nursery or child care initially, families are encouraged to worship together!
LOCATIONS - We will be observing proper social-distancing. Therefore, our space will be very limited. As such when capacity is reached, we will not be able to allow further entrance. Along with the sanctuary, the Fellowship Hall will be used as a worship space and the service will be simulcast on the big screen. Live-streaming of both services will still be offered on our Facebook page, and the recorded service will be posted on our YouTube page later in the day.
THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW, AND HOW YOU CAN HELP:
Only two entrances will be opened: the east and west entrances into the gathering area. All others will be locked.
To the best of our ability, social-distancing must be maintained at all times.
Water fountains will be covered, and no refreshments of any kind will be offered.
While we know that we will be so glad to see each other, we ask that you please not enter the building more than 15 minutes prior to the start of the service, and that you vacate the building as soon as possible at the conclusion of the service. The worship spaces must be sanitized between services. Your adherence to these arrival and departure times will help greatly with this task.
We encourage the wearing of masks and will have a few on-hand for your use if you don’t already have one.
If you are a member of an “At Risk” population, we encourage you to follow the advice of your personal physician, and the CDC regarding your attendance. While we love and miss you, we encourage you to err on the side of caution.
Please understand that we must honor our limited capacity as it relates to social-distancing mandates. To not do so would set a poor example for our community, and place our ability to continue to gather at risk. Please be patient, kind, and merciful if you cannot attend the worship service you desire. Irrespective of how other churches, restaurants, or retail businesses are operating, we will do our best to adhere to safe guidelines.
Be aware. As people resume their normal activities, and as the ability to test for this illness improves, known cases will increase. Like the flu, coronavirus is not going away anytime soon. Behave prudently for your safety, and the safety of others.
We are so happy to be able to gather again and look forward to seeing your smiling face! Please remember that these measures are temporary and we will continue to monitor the situation. We will relax restrictions and move toward a greater sense of normalcy as soon as we are able to do so safely.
David Willis, Pastor
We have implemented enhanced health and safety measures for our members, guests, and staff. You must follow all posted and verbal instructions while at FPUMC.
An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death with senior citizens and people with underlying medical conditions being especially vulnerable.
By being at FPUMC, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and any other communicable diseases, and we cannot guarantee you that our enhanced health and safety measures will lessen such risks.
Let's work to keep each other as healthy and safe as possible!
